Italian Connection

This wedding cake was for a very sweet couple, a Filipino groom and an Italian bride. This was actually the third installment of wedding cakes for the groom's family, as I made the first two for his sisters.

In our initial meeting, I remember the bride asking for two things. One, that the cake contain no flour because her sister who was flying in from Italy had gluten intolerance. Two, make sure that the cake had taste with mixed guests of Filipino and foreigners in attendance, the last thing the bride wanted was a damper at the end of the meal.

The final wedding cake was a three tier all edible belgian flourless chocolate cake decked with Driscoll Strawberries.

The last we heard, the cake was so irresistible that a guest started picking on the strawberries even before the bride and groom started to cut the cake.
